Green Business Network
Kirklees EMS Group

KEG logo

The Green Business Network (GBN) and Kirklees Council have established a network for the private sector in the Kirklees district to provide support on implementing EMS’s such as the Eco Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS), ISO14001 and BS8555.

The aim of the network is to encourage the sharing of best practice and the provision of free support and guidance to achieve an accredited EMS.

The network has three meetings a year with guest speakers to provide free training and guidance.

Kirklees Council is the UK lead in EMAS and has just been awarded the best EMAS system in the UK and Europe by the European Commission. With this knowledge and expertise and with the free, practical environmental support available from the GBN the KEG hopes to encourage greener businesses in the Kirklees district

EMAS Toolkit and Environmental Legal Register

As a member of the KEG you will gain free access to the EMAS toolkit that Kirklees Council have developed. The tool kit consists of procedures and guidance summarising the process of writing and recording all the required information for EMAS maintenance.
