ABLE Kirklees is a multi-disciplinary environmental scheme that will focus on local sustainable food production and skills development programmes. The site was donated by Kirklees Council along with £1.25 million to develop the scheme. The project will also act as a community amenity.
The GBN is an award-winning Environmental Body and has helped fund over 180 local projects in the Calderdale area.
The ABLE Project is a demonstration of sustainable development in action, showing how fish for human consumption can be produced at inland fisheries in a highly innovative way that simultaneously delivers significant added value environmental, economic and social benefits.
