Calder Future
The Calder Future Partnership provides a co-ordinated approach to river and canal improvements between the relevant statutory bodies and provides opportunities for those that live and work beside the rivers and canals in Calderdale to participate in practical projects on the ground.

Intruplas Ltd
Established by the GBN in 2000 to recycle waste plastic from local companies, that could previously not be recycled, into useful products such as groundblocks, garden furniture and profiles.

The ABLE Project
The ABLE project is in fact two projects. An established project, ABLE1, in Wakefield that is now well on its way to sustainability, using fish farming and horticulture to help young people in danger of exclusion from school, and a new site in Heckmondwike, near Huddersfield, – ABLE2 that has recently been donated by Kirklees Council, for which plans are currently being developed.

InHouse Marketing of Huddersfield have set up TreeHouse to help companies pursue their marketing activities in an environmentally friendly way. InHouse are investing in the GBN's ABLE2 project and are encouraging their clients to do the same.

The Alternative Technology Centre
The Alternative Technology Centre (ATC) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Hebden Bridge. It aims to make sustainability achievable through its educational resource centre which provides accessible information and advice to improve quality of life using sustainable means - economic, environmental and social. The Centre also has a shop selling recycled and eco-friendly products.

The Regional Intelligence Network for Yorkshire and the Humber, providing information and intelligence about the region, to improve decision making and better prepare us for the future.

Grants for businesses

The Carbon Trust
Grants available to help business reduce its CO2 emissions. Also offer interest free loans to business between £5,000 and £100,000 to invest in energy efficient equipment, a free telephone advice for small businesses on saving money on energy and offers site surveys from a local energy efficiency adviser.

The Low Carbon Buildings Programme
The low carbon buildings programme will provide grants for microgeneration technologies to householders, community organisations, schools, the public and not for profit sector and private businesses.

Recycling Action Yorkshire
