** NEW ** Virtual Tours / Case Studies

The GBN has teamed up with local company VR360 to produce 360° virtual tours of some of our projects. Please see our Virtual Tours page for virtual reality tours of the plastic and composting operations at GBN (South Yorkshire) Ltd, Caldervale, the Ravenscliffe Therapeutic Garden and the carpet tile recycling, cardboard recycling and Scrap for Play schemes at Pennine Magpie.

We have also developed case studies on several of our projects that can be downloaded from this website. Please see the GBN Projects page for details of how to do this.

Sheffield Composting and Plastic Recycling

The GBN set up an Integrated Recycling facility in Sheffield - GBN (South Yorkshire) Ltd which received waste plastic and organic materials for re-processing. The facility, developed in conjunction with Outokumpu Stainless Steel Ltd, was a closed loop system encompassing the largest social composting operation in the UK and a plastics reprocessing and assembly facility. This major initiative directly increased the volumes of waste materials diverted from landfill by up to 50,000 tonnes per year. The facility has now closed due to the decision of Outokumpu to close the site. To find out more, please see the GBN Projects page.

Caldervale

Work is now progressing on a 34 acre site in Wakefield, an extension of the 'Cardboard to Caviar' project. For further details, please see our Projects page.
