GBN ( South Yorkshire ) Ltd manufactured the following products
on behalf of Intruplas
Ltd. Despite the loss of the site in Sheffield we are
still hoping to continue with the production of these products
at a new location.
The ‘Wayfarer' range of garden and street furniture includes
recycled plastic picnic tables, benches, planters and seats.
The furniture is finished in a wood grain effect and is ideal
for schools, parks, and play areas as it is extremely hard
wearing, maintenance free and vandal resistant.

Intruplas also produces groundblocks and profiles.
Groundblocks are ideal for footpaths, walkways and cycle paths,
being easy to lay, maintenance free, non-slip and porous.
The profiles are used for a number of applications, from fencing
and bollards, to bridges and fishing platforms.

In its latest project the GBN teamed up with local company
Pollution
Prevention Ltd (PPL) of Marsden. Waste plastics from local
companies are reprocessed into a specially designed profile
section, used by PPL to retro fit bunds on containers or appliances
containing over 200 litres, as required under the Oil Storage
Regulations.

Yorkshire Forward's ‘Recycling
Action Yorkshire' programme provided a grant of £20,000
to buy a new mould to produce the required profile to test
out the new system, and PPL installed their first order at
Bristol Airport for use on a transformer. The scheme could
potentially provide work for many years, since as well as
the hundreds of thousands of transformers around the country,
there are countless other containers and appliances containing
over 200 litres of oil.
GBN (South Yorkshire) Ltd offered a shredding service to
collectors of waste plastic. The company will shred and bag
waste plastic to an appropriate size of 20mm. This service
will still be offered when the company moves.
GBN (South Yorkshire) Ltd also offered a waste plastic agglomeration
process. This is the process by which low density polyethylene,
polypropylene and woven polypropylene is densified into 3-4mm
pellets. Again this service will continue to be offered by
Intruplas Ltd.
