The Sieff Award was created in 2002 to coincide with Business in the Community’s 20th Anniversary and the retirement of founder member and pioneering corporate leader, Sir David Sieff of Marks & Spencer who has a long history of corporate community involvement. The award recognises individuals, based in the community, who have successfully collaborated with business to benefit society.

Graham has been involved in many innovative schemes, but the award especially recognised his innovative work on the ABLE Cardboard to Caviar project based at Caldervale Sewage Treatment Works, Wakefield.
