The Green Business Network established Pennine Pack, a packaging compliance scheme registered under the Producer Responsibility Obligation (Packaging Waste) Regulations 2005.
The scheme, now under private ownership, assists companies along the M62 corridor (between Liverpool and Hull), and surrounding areas to comply with the regulations. The strategy of Pennine-Pack is to establish locally based recycling schemes utilising members’ subscriptions and fees for this purpose, in preference to exporting packaging waste to developing countries.
This investment into increasing the UK’s recycling capacity follows the spirit of the regulations and is in the long-term interest of UK businesses.
As part of the service Pennine Pack is able to offer members assistance in gathering data as well as waste minimisation initiatives.
If you are interested in becoming a member of Pennine-Pack, please contact the Pennine-Pack General Manager on 07932 122575 or for more information see the dedicated Pennine-Pack website
